POVERTY BAY CHARITY SHEEP DOG TRIAL CLUB
They're funny beggars, sheep. Great with rosemary or mint, but as any sheep dog triallist will tell you, they can be stubborn, unpredictable and downright dumb. But you can't run a charity sheep dog trial without them. Which was the problem for the organisers of this year's Poverty Bay Charity Sheep Dog Trials. They were short of funds to transport sheep to the event, hire the grounds and put up the judges, so The Lion Foundation helped out with a grant. By all accounts, the day was a success with entries up on last year. So we're pleased we could round up a few bucks.
