JOHN WALKER 'FIND YOUR FIELD OF DREAMS' FOUNDATION
The John Walker 'Find your Field of Dreams' Foundation is an initiative set up by New Zealand’s legendary athlete, Sir John Walker, to give Manukau’s young people the opportunities to pursue their dreams through sport. John says that he was lucky to have been given a “tap on the shoulder” by someone who realised his talent and he’s keen to give today’s kids those same chances. The Lion Foundation helps fund one of their flagship projects, the Community Swim Programme, which provides free lessons, pool entry, transport and instructors. Says John, “Some of these kids hadn’t even been to a pool before. We can make a real difference to some kids and we have made a difference.” We think that’s a dream worth supporting.
